it took nearly a week but the jury did convict james whitey bulger for a string of murders and crimes dating back to 1970s finding him guilty of 31 of 32 charges including 11 murders as well as extortion, racketeering and money

laundering. the panel of eight men and four women deliberated 30 hours over five days reaching their verdicts this morning. >> after 31 years, after a lot of fbi cover ups, and lies, we finally have somebody guilty in the murder of my father. >> bulger was a one time fbi informant became one of the top 10 wanted criminals in 1994. he spent 16 years on the run being captured in santa monica in 2011. his attorney says they will appeal. >> mayor bloomberg vowing to appeal a ruling that the new york police department's controversial stop and frisk is unconstitutional. the judge ruled it unfairly targets blacks and hispanics. the judge ruled it can continue but, will appoint an independent monitor to make sure stops are carried out

look at these images a fight between one couple in china took a frightening turn. the woman sitting on a window ledge arguing with her boyfriend. she slipped. the man was able to catch her but he was dragged out of the window in the process. neighbors saw this happen and ran to the rescue and they clung on to legs until firefighters arrived with a ladder. it took 20 minutes and it was terrifying. both were rescued safely. another rescues to tell but

pregnant women who have labor induce or speeded up are slightly more likely to have autistic children. that is the result of a new study. women whose labor started or augmented for 27% more likely to have an autistic child. the doctor stresses findings are preliminary. researchers looking at risk factors because this period plays a key role in brain development. >> a study suggests unexplained abdominal pain could lead to anxiety or depression in adulthood. research published today shows 51% of children who abdominal pain had an anxiety disorder during their lifetime. 40% had depression. the author says more research is needed to find out how the children were treated and whether that had affect on mental health. >> 16 public employees from ocean county, new jersey came

>> california first amber alert buy a cell phone startled people last week complaints include loud sheik, being woken up and receiving the message multiple times. it was for abduction of san diego county teen, hannah anderson. authorities credit the system with playing a key role in her save recovery in idaho this weekend it can help save the life of a child. as for amber alerts they do save lives, today, 656 lives have been -- now, 657. >> but the sound motivated people to opt out. a poll by a newspaper conducted the day after the alert found one third of respondents(ómt would disable te fee fewer. the alert is not just for missing children, also for imminent danger like a wildfire close to homes.
